The Egyptian Society of oral implantology ESOI in corporation with Seville University, Spain and Dental Smile educational center proudly announce the launch of the Diploma in Implant Dentistry in Egypt awarded by the Seville University, Spain
REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA CERTIFICATION:
The Seville dental implant diploma Certificate examination is comprised of two sections. The first section is a written examination and the second section consists of case presentations and case defense.
The examination is comprehensive, covering topics such as collecting and assessing patient data, preparing and presenting a patient treatment plan, implementing patient treatment, and maintaining the effectiveness of the dental implant treatment.
The Diploma exam measures the in-depth knowledge, proficient skills, and abilities of practitioners to provide comprehensive, safe and effective oral implant care for the public.
Candidates must pass the Part I written examination prior to taking the Part II case presentation portion of the examination.
The Part I Examination is a written examination consisting of 100 multiple choice questions; Candidates are given 2 hours for the section. Candidates are not allowed to bring any electronic devices, bags or other extraneous items into the examination room.
Part II of the examination requires the submission of 5 documented implant cases for diploma board review. The Part II Examination consists of two components: preset scenarios and submitted cases completed by the candidates.
The first component consists of candidates rotating through a series of stations with pre-set cases in which they will be questioned about by two examiners.
Candidates are given time to review the cases prior to the examination in a secure area.
The second component is where the candidate will defend their submitted cases. Examiners review the candidates’ cases prior to the examination and will choose 3-4 cases the candidate will defend. No prior notice will be given as to which cases are chosen.

-Copy of valid passport -Copy of graduation certificate - 2 personal pictures - At Least 80 credit hour of continuing education in implant dentistry course - Certificate of attendance of implant congress, 1 at least per year after date of the implant course.

Diploma Fees: 850€
Exam Fees: 100€
Intent to Take the Examination
All applications should be submitted before 30th of April 2010
Once your application is approved, you will be contacted in writing by the Diploma board. At that time, you will be required to submit a Letter of Intent with the appropriate fees to the ESOI.
A cancellation fee of €420 will apply for any candidate requesting to cancel after the first of January 2010
Candidates with Special Accommodation Needs
The ESOI wishes to ensure that persons with disabilities have physical access to the testing facility. We are committed to making reasonable accommodations in the way we administer our test for those with disabilities. If you have a disability that requires our attention, please advise us a minimum of 60 days prior to the date of the examination, so that we may accommodate your needs.
Applicants Responsibilities
The timely submission and accuracy of the information submitted is the responsibility of the applicant.
The ESOI will not accept applications under the following circumstances:
-Application arrives past the posted due date
-Applications that are incomplete, without required signatures fees and supporting documents
If at any time during the application your contact information changes, it is your responsibility to contact the ABOI and update your file.
Examination Results
Examination results will be announced within 7 days of the examination date for the first part and 48 hours for part II examination.
Appeal Mechanism
Candidates who fail either part of the examination may appeal this decision to the Board. Each appeal must be submitted in writing and must be received in the ESOI board within 5 days after the examination results are announced.
Disclaimer
The Diploma board reserves the right to change certification and or application requirements and deadlines for future examinations. The ESOI Board may at its discretion, approve, or deny any candidate for certification who does not fully satisfy the certification route qualifications as set forth by the ESOI.
